Service Description

The carotid arteries are the two major blood vessels on each side of the neck that supply blood to the brain. If the arteries in the neck (Carotid Arteries) become blocked by atherosclerosis or blood clot, this affecting blood flow going to the brain which can cause insufficient oxygen to the brain. Restriction of flow or a traveling plaque or clot to the brain, can cause a stroke. Our ultrasound screening technique can identify the presence of plaque in the carotid arteries in the neck, which can develop over time without causing any symptoms.
